Rain gutters are very important part of a building. They serve as a shield again inclement weather for the house. Regardless of it's expensive cost, it serves a long term goal of preventing your house from damage by rainwater. You may be asking yourself, "What do rain gutters do?" or "What are rain gutters for?" The primary function of rain gutters is to channel rainwater from the roof in a direction away from your house foundation. Aside this role, there are other purposes of having a rain gutter in place such as the following.

1. Roofs and walls protection

Firstly, your roof is secured with raingutters. Without them, your roof can easily be damaged by rain water. Bear in mind that your roof is made up of the soffit, fascia, and other structural components which are very expensive to fix. Despite their role of keeping water away from your house, they are also at risk of being damaged by water if water is not drained away sufficiently. This is the work of a well functioning raingutter system.

When raingutters are not present, your walls will experience continuous splashing which will result in them becoming damp. This dampness further results in seepage by the wall( ie, the wall drinks the water), especially in the case of brick walls. When this occurs, you will notice that your walls will start peeling, your walls will become stained with damp patches, as well as molds growing on the wall, and so on.
